AFROPUNK GIRAFFE

N/A

Wood, Steel Wool, Wire, Vintage Camera Flash, Acrylic

a Very Old Wooden Giraffe Sculpture carved in Africa. The sculpture was coloured/burned black using a Flame Torch. The Giraffe’s mane consists of “wire pins” running down the entire length of its neck, with steel staples keeping the cracks in the wood from “growing”. The Giraffe has two interchangeable heads. One head was created using a Vintage Camera Flash with a Vintage style lightbulb and the other creates the illusion of a Giraffe’s head in the clouds. The “cloud head” is made from steel wool and illuminated from within by two lightbulbs. When a head is not in use it can be placed on a separate stand and used as a lamp.
